A crash-course in innovation
From August 2019 to July 2020 I worked as a UX/UI designer at the creative agency and innovation lab that is redpepper. Although located in Nashville, Tennessee, their work spans all over the world.

During this time I used user experience design to help companies rethink and streamline their internal business processes, gave lessons to companies in the food industry using user research and the psychology and biology of why people salivate when looking at food photography to help their users virtually "taste" their product, and I've helped large utility companies visualize their data and created a tool to strategically save time and money for both them and their customers.

The culture of the agency created a strong drive to innovate and learn from the world around us.

Projects involved creating and facilitating workshops spanning from Worldwide companies needing to come together and find focus to local Nashville companies expanding their focus and take their products worldwide. One morning would involve interview sessions asking accountants very specific technical questions about their process and finish the day hearing stories of how a medical training company is making a deep impact with their product and why it should matter to their users. Some projects meant working with others in the office and others spent w
orking with and directing design teams in other countries and accounting for small details that can make or break a user experience across cultures. I learned to adapt methods to match all the unique clients.

The complex UX of b2b
From November 2015 to July 2019 I worked remotely as a Web/Product Designer for Personify Corp. (previously a2z, inc.), an industry leading events management and optimization platform.

I got the experience of introducing the concept of UX to a company that was ready to make the leap and was given the freedom to make big changes. I created focus and processes to make sure UX was integrated throughout product development.

Along with establishing a new role in the company, I developed a strong understanding of balancing ideas to focus on the needs of my clients and their users and the complexities of b2b.

A great example of this balance can be seen in the redesign of a simple admin screen that makes exhibitors lives easier while providing hands free revenue opportunities to the clients.

The UX of grocery shopping
From July 2014 to October 2015 I worked as a Store Artist/ Lead Graphic Designer for Whole Foods Market in Columbia, Maryland.

The specialty grocer taught me about natural and organic foods and showed me the dynamic, complex, exciting world of consumer behavior in a supermarket.

Using graphic design, illustration, marketing, and consumer behavoir skills, I drove sales and shaped customer experiences in a large fast-paced retail environment.
Like an intricate puzzle, I led all design projects pertaining to the Columbia store along with many opportunities aiding development of design projects used throughout many Whole Foods Market stores.
